Al Roker is getting his own COVID-19 vaccine shot ready to pierce his arm live on the Today Show.

Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine was the shot he got on his arm after he rolled up his sleeve at the Lenox Hill Hospital.

Roker, 66 — who he is eligible for the vaccine — “kept logging in, logging in,” all weekend on the online booking system for his shot. “Sunday morning, I finally got assigned here to Lenox Hill Hospital. It was a constant—I kept hitting refresh, refresh on the browser and finally got in guys…luck of the draw.”

According to Hollywood Reporter, weatherman Al Roker spoke to Lennox Hill’s medical director, Dr. Daniel Baker, prior getting the COVID-19 jab:

“We’ve seen hundreds of thousands of doses since and everybody’s doing rather quite well,” Baker told Roker. The doctor also emphasized the importance of continued mask-wearing even as more people receive the vaccine.

“That’s actually a key component of keeping us all safe,” Baker explained. “We’re not going to know who has had the vaccine. We’re also going to take some time in terms of getting up to enough people to where we can really take these masks off. So, mask wearing is going to be with us for some time now.”

Roker joins many other Holywood stars who have gotten the COVID-19 vaccine, among Steve Martin, 75, and Sir Ian McKellen, 81, in the U.K.
