Now his friend Angus Yuan is making an emotional plea to the Government to let Li’s mother come to Australia to say goodbye.

“I want the Government to give his mother hope to see her son for the last time,” Mr Yuan told Virginia Trioli in an emotional interview.

The Federal Government has imposed restrictions on people arriving in Australia if they have travelled from China, due to fears of coronavirus spreading.

Acting Minister for Immigration Alan Tudge told Virginia Trioli they are looking at the situation.

“We want to exercise whatever compassionate consideration we can in order to enable her to get here as quickly as possible without putting the Australian public at any risk,” he said.
