Jenn Sterger — real name Jennifer Decker — has spoken out about the sexting scandal involving Jared Porter, after she was a victim of Brett Favre’s inappropriate texts about a decade ago.
Decker was Jenn Sterger when she was working with the New York Jets. The female-host took the chance on Twitter after former GM Jared Porter’s scandal erupted, where he had been harassing a female reporter with unsolicited pics.
“This is why I go back & talk to sports media classes… about REAL issues,” Decker tweeted. “To make sure they know they don’t have to suffer in silence. That together we are unstoppable & that WE belong here. They DESERVE the future I’m still fighting for, minus the pain it took to get here.”
According to NY Daily News, Brett Favre was hit wiith a $50,000 fine for his lewd photos and suggestive emails sent to Sterger, back when she was a game-day female host for the Jets, prompting the NFL to launch an investigation on the incident.
“Sports radio.. sports television.. if you have a panel of all men talking heads discussing this Porter stuff tomorrow on your shows… you’re part of the problem,” Decker tweeted. “Sincerely, women everywhere.”
Decker and her husband currently host a podcast titled “Swings and Mrs.” on the Radio.com app.
“All snark and deflection aside, women in sports media… sports fans… if stuff you read tonight triggers you, you’re not alone,” Jennifer Decker tweeted. “Just remember, your voice can make sure it’s a better future for those to come. & it’s never too late to take back your story.”
